1778: George Lukins

George Lukins, a tailor from England, exhibited strange behavior in 1778, such as speaking in different voices and singing hymns backward. Seven priests performed an exorcism at Bristol’s Temple Church, commanding the demons to leave his body. Lukins was reportedly cured after reciting the Lord’s Prayer, making this one of the few exorcisms with a happy ending.
