1974: Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor, a husband and father from England, underwent a violent exorcism in 1974. After Taylor’s wife confronted him about his relationship with a young pastor, his behavior became erratic. The exorcism, which took place on October 5, 1974, left Taylor screaming and convulsing. The next day, he murdered his wife in a gruesome act. Taylor was acquitted of the crime, with his defense arguing that the exorcism had driven him insane.
