How to Use Neem Oil on Plants for Pest-control

Create your Own Neem Oil

To make your own neem oil spray, start by mixing 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of mild dish soap with almost a liter of water in a spray bottle. This helps neem oil blend with water. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of neem oil to the soapy water and shake until cloudy. Before spraying the whole plant, test a small section and wait 24 hours for any reaction. If safe, lightly spray the plant, including the undersides of leaves, avoiding over-soaking. Reapply as needed, typically daily for infestations or weekly for maintenance. Always mix fresh batches, as the solution loses effectiveness quickly.
